Scope Day at Goose Pond - Dorothy Haines & Patrick Ready
Scope viewing day at Goose Pond will be held October 28 when the Tundra Swans might be present. We sometimes have as many as 20 species of waterfowl on the "Seen Today" board. Tundra Swans are often on the pond as they rest up here on their long trip to the Chesapeake Bay from the Arctic Circle.
From 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. spotting scopes will be set up along the lane at Goose Pond Sanctuary for visitor use and volunteers will be on hand to help vistors locate and identify waterfowl. They will have hand-out information about other area viewing sites. If the weather is inclement, the scopes will not be set up.
If you have questions or would like to volunteer as a host, call Dorothy Haines or the MAS office at (608)255-BIRD.
